Head's Cup – Friday 24th June 2022 – Cradoc

Match Report

 High Summer temporarily interrupted; a cloudy day but no wind or rain and not cold either – ideal in fact for very pleasant golf !!

Inevitably one or two had to pull out for whatever reason, and baps and coffee, always a very welcome start to the day, universally enjoyed by us all. Lovely to welcome our Archivist Felicity for the first time, and to learn of the wonderful job she is making of this terrific on-going project; we now have a dedicated archive room in what was originally the School House Blue Housemaster's accommodation, all material indexed and in dedicated boxes for all to browse. Great as ever to mingle again with friends old and new !!

Playing as always in groups of threes / fours; our line-up:-

Robert Calcaterra, Simon Hill, Rhodri Jenkins, Gwyn Jones,

Nigel Jones, Peter Knill, Mike Muir, Peter Owen,

John Patterson, Charles Rich, Jonathan Spencer, Roger Tamplin,

Dyfed Thomas, Ryan Williams, Jonathan Spencer, Mark Wilson,

Richard Morgan

Peace and tranquillity cannot be bettered out here, interrupted only by the happy sound of young children playing coming from a nearby junior school. The course is in lovely condition – no excuses for my own poor golf !!

 A hugely enjoyable afternoon produced some excellent scores;

 In third place:- Pete Knill 38 points

Equal first with 39 points Simon Hill and Robert Calcaterra; but there has to be a winner;

and on a countback for the back nine Robert scraped home to win by one point !!!

We were delighted again to welcome The Head, Gareth Pearson, to our very convivial post golf lunch, who eloquently made the presentation.
