Old Breconian Association

Most people remember their time at Christ College because of the people who were there – the other pupils and the staff.

The OBA exists for its members, and especially welcomes the new Old Breconians who join the Association each year. The OBA has a membership of almost 4,000 - mainly former pupils, but also former teaching and other staff.

The OBA aims to ensure its members are able to enjoy the benefits of Christ College for the rest of their lives, providing opportunities for support and enduring friendship. We think of ourselves as a diverse community linked by our school, and we hope that every Breconian will want to be an active member of that community.

The overwhelming majority of pupils leaving school join the Association and immediately have access to a range of benefits.

Through our members, we are able to offer placement and GAP year opportunities.

We are also able to offer extensive business and networking opportunities that can help you on your chosen career path.

We provide up-to-date, regular information and news about OBs and news from the school through social media and the Community Hub.

We organise peer group reunions, regular reunions at Christ College, sporting fixtures and other Old Breconian events.

The OBA Charitable Trust provides financial assistance to OBs in need.

We contribute to crucial school projects and support fundraising through the Development Office.

We provide an OB member as a representative on the Board of Governors of Christ College to represent the Association and its members.

Old Breconians and the OBA

We exist solely for our members so we are always looking for ideas to inform our activities. We want to make sure you have the support you need when you need it most. Stay in touch with us via the Community Hub, or contact us directly to let us know how we can help.
