Our Giving Back Fund offers individuals who have previously been recipients of a bursary or scholarship the chance to contribute and support others facing circumstances similar to those they once experienced.
When Christ College was established by Henry VIII in 1541 the endowment of £53 included £24 for the education of scholars. Though the endowment has long disappeared, it is a very important part of our history. Our charitable status is fundamental to what we are and we aim to keep building the CCB Foundation so that we can continue to support pupils whatever their background.
Over the years, many hundreds of pupils have been able to attend Christ College Brecon thanks to financial support from the school. Without this help, the fees would have been beyond the reach of many hard-working families. This support was made possible by the kindness and generosity of Old Breconians who chose to ‘give back’ to support the next generation by making donations in gratitude for the support they themselves received.
