Over the last couple of weeks some OB’s have been luck to attend both England v India at Sophia Gardens in the Metro Bank Men’s ODI Series and then Glamorgan v Susses Sharks at Neath CC in the Metro Bank One Day Cup 2026.
At Sophia Gardens we were all very luck to have use of a box due to the kindness of Andrew (ALGY) Jones superbly situated at square leg. A long day was made easy by seeing four of the worlds best Batters and Bowlers in action – Root 99(no) & Kohli 65 and Archer 3-47 & Bumrah 1-45. A excellent win by England by 4 wickets.
Then down to Neath CC for Glamorgan’s first game in the Metro Cup. 19 OB’s and a couple of Old Llandoverians(!) enjoyed the hospitality arranged by Neath Round Table. It has been a pleasure to support this event for over 10 years now, previously at St Helens and currently at Neath. Good to see Glamorgan winning by 12 runs.
