I left London on 13th January to come out to Australia for three months to travel and play cricket before the season begins at home. I settled in quickly to living with three girls from the Sunshine Coast Cricket Club on the Sunshine Coast, making the most of being able to spend my days in the pool rather than the rain!!
I played 5 rounds of weekend matches for the Sunshine Coast Cricket Club first grade women’s team, unfortunately coming short of making the finals in the last match. Despite the heat I’ve LOVED the experience of playing out here and have made friends for life, as well as completing my most interesting journey to a cricket match - by helicopter and landing on the pitch!
At the beginning of March I am going to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef and then hiring a camper-van for a fortnight to travel down the east coast before arriving back for the start of the season in Wales. So far this has been a trip of a lifetime and I cannot wait for the next month of travel.
