COBS - College, Old Breconians & Staff
On Friday 13th June, 2025 COBS played their first match against the Mitres (Old Llandavians cricket team) after many years of trying to get a fixture started.
Most of the Mitres warmed up with a round at Cradoc GC and a refresher in the Castle Hotel so were well placed for the 5.30pm start. Even the BBC weather forecast could not put us off.
Mitres batted first but lost some early wickets to some great COBS bowling and fielding but the top batters were James Cutlan(42) and Curtis Boughton(13) which took them to 103/9 after 15 overs with the wickets being shared by Maclean, Palmer (Snr), Davies, Barnett-Smith, Spies and JP(!).
COBS batted and started strongly with a rapid 50 from Elis Barnett-Smith (Rtd.), 11 from Tom Maclean and finished off by 13 from JP and 24 from Richard Lovering.
A great game and great result and great friendship.
OB's - Andrew Palmer, James Davenport, Richard Lovering, John Patterson, Tom Maclean, Elis Barnett-Smith,
Staff - Josh Spies,
College - Toby Plamer, Cam Cullum, Jack Ryan & Ollie Davies
