Yesterday we held the COBS v CCB 1st XI which has not been played for a while.
COBS (after having a few drop outs the previous day) managed to put together a typical mixed side with the oldest member - Baz - aged 50 yrs and the youngest - Harri - 9 yrs and we managed to include one current pupil Mario.
Andrew Palmer, James Davenport, Elis Barnett-Smith, Olly Lewis, Rhodri and Ellis Jenkins, Henry Alp-Williams Rusiru Kodithuwakku
COBS batted 1st with both openers Elis Barnett-Smith getting 49 and James Davenport reaching 67.
COBS scored 138 for 6 in their 25 overs.
In reply Rhys P and Mark G (capt) playing in their last game for the 1st XI made a century opening stand
CCB 1st XI won by 3 wickets.
The match included two family battles - father against son and brother against brother.
Thanks to all those that played and all at CCB that made the game possible.
One final mention to Mike Lewis (ORC, 80-83) of Highground Maintenance for all his hard work this year in creating such a quality wicket.
