A reminder of times past, the green (and not gold) sweatshirt worn by the Taunton tourists has been a feature of the display on the mezzanine in Big School since the opening of the 1541 exhibition.
Its story is now online, together with a gallery of named photos from the first decade of girls hockey at Christ College. Pieced from intel supplied by Polly Garnett and Suzy Thomas and a forensic dissection of photographs and The Breconian, a general picture of colours has emerged. Girls first wore green and gold in the 1997/98 season - less than a decade after the inception of girls hockey at Christ College.
You can view Object 35: girls tour kit in the 1541 exhibition.
Can you help?
Is there a photo of Girls Hockey XI 1987/88 out there? We have recently been sent a scan of the Girls Hockey XI photo of 1999/00, but we are still misisng Boys Hockey XI photo of that year. If you can help, let Felicity or Huw know. If you have one you can't bear to part with, it's easy to arrange a digital alternative.
