Object 25, a postcard of the Pavilion, is the first of the objects from the 15 facts 41 objects exhibition in Big School to be posted online. Originally built as a memorial to the 57 OBs who were known to have lost their lives as a result of the First world War, the Pavilion is surely the most iconic modern buildings on site and a reference to it deserves to be the first object in our online exhibition.
Continuing the theme of earlier exhibitions, 15 facts 41 objects aims to help pupils, parents and visitors understand the history of the school from its earliest foundation. Originally selected from the hundreds of objects and photographs in the Christ College Archive, many of the items in the original display were chosen by public ballot by Old Breconians, pupils and guests.
The 15 facts 41 objects exhibition in the RJ Boulton Archive Room on the mezzanine in Big School, is arranged chronologically. The simple arrangement of objects, with accompanying text and an occasional hint of quirkiness, can be viewed at leisure in its ordered sequence or enjoyed in passing with a random dip into the decades.
Not unlike a lucky dip into the history of Christ College, objects in the 15 facts 41 objects pages will be randomly added to the sequence online in the coming months.
