As we celebrate 40 years of Co-Education at Christ College we are excited to congratulate Laetitia A J Tanqueray (DON, 10-14) on here PhD from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.
Its now - Dr. Laetitia Tanqueray
It was pointed out the “slow research” for her thesis “Reframing Robots for Care” ensured she produced useful knowledge whilst also respecting informal caregivers. Her journey began as a young carer at the age of 14 years old, then her work with young carer charities at 19 years old to help give young carers respite. Her PhD provided an opportunity to rely on her research skills and her own experiences to finally bring young carers into the realm of artificial intelligence. it was concluded that this was timely research and an inspiration to researchers whilst being a role model to young carers.
In Sweden, at the graduation you are given a hat to symbolise freedom. In the sense that knowledge is power, and as academics they must seek to produce knowledge that goes beyond the obvious.
