Giving Day 2026
There's just one week to go before Giving Day 2026. Excitement is already building in the Christ College community!
#ccbgivingday
Supporting Brecon Foodbank
It is now something of a tradition that Giving Day will begin with the arrival of items for Brecon Foodbank donated by pupils, parents and staff. The rapid delivery of bags, packets and boxes before morning registration is always a heartening start to the day.
Our pupils support a wide range of charities throughout the year. With the cost of Christmas still taking its toll on many families, this collective act of giving to the Brecon Foodbank is much needed.
We have donated 600Kg to the Foodbank on our Giving Days so far. The challenge to bring the total up to 1000Kg by the end of Giving Day 2026 hangs in the air and we are sure the school community will respond with characteristic generosity to achieve it.
Support your House in the Battle of the Houses
During the day, we'll be watching the online Battle of the Houses. A prize for the House that makes the highest number of donations over £10 on Giving Day has been generously donated by the OBA.
De Winton won the coveted prize on our last Giving Day, with Donaldson's not far behind. A new year brings an open field and we're keen to see which House will take the lead in 2026.
Donations from OBs will count towards the House tally.
This is your chance to support your House, whatever your generation and wherever you are in the world.
Support a fund and make a difference
Owen Murfin (SHR 1989-94) has pledged to give £3,000 once 50 donations are made to the Foundation. Join him in supporting the fund that supports transformative scholarships and bursaries and the development of school facilities that improve the learning and personal experience of every pupil.
The family and friends of Pinaki Roy (SHR 1986-91) will be supporting the Giving Back Fund along with his friends in the Class of 91. Pinaki was the beneficiary of a bursary at Christ College and was himself a generous donor to the fund.
Thanks to a most welcome pledge to match donations up to £750 from Charles Morgan (Orchard 1965-71), early bird donations to the Chapel and Heritage Fund will immediately double. This year the fund will help us complete yet more heritage projects, including re-lettering and re-gilding the WW1 memorial tablet.
Our volunteer Theatre Technician, David Grant, has made a magnanimous pledge to help raise £20,712 for air conditioning in the Neuadd, and parents Mike and Samantha Pearce have stepped up with a pledge to match the first £1,000 donated to the fund. Please support their generosity by donating to the Pupil Opportunity Fund.
We offer them all our wholehearted thanks for choosing to support a fund that means something to them.
On Giving Day 2026 please match their generosity by donating to a fund that means something to you.
You really will make a difference.

There is still time to make a pledge that will inspire donations to your chosen fund. Contact Martyn Thomas if you would like to offer your support.
