It's a wrap - Brecon Choir Festival

So very happy to see an incredible year of growth at Brecon Choir Festival.

This year we set ourselves the goal of a much expanded 4-day programme, including new commissions, a festival theme and singing workshops for the community.

We saw:

• Sell out concerts all through the weekend with overall visitor numbers up min 3x
• Visitors from Belgium, Japan (!), Germany and a visit from the Zulu Royal Family
• World class performances from the likes of Continuum and London Welsh Male Voice Choir showcasing the very best of their respective traditions
• A Men's Shed Shanty Chorus scratch choir singing to hundreds on our unique Choir Trail
• Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams exploring with us how to "tune in" to reality through music and poetry

This year saw a change in visitor origin. In our first year in 2022 most attendees came from in or near Brecon. Now the largest group of attendees comes from outside Wales! 

It's amazing what a volunteer team can do united by a passion for music making and bringing a community together.

A crazy ambition is to make the festival the no.1 destination to experience choral music, providing unique immersive participation opportunities for festival goers. Wales and the Brecon Beacons with its natural beauty and communal singing DNA is a fantastic place to do it.
